I'm hearing that the ASUS A8N32 SLI oc's nearly as well if not better than the DFI SLI-DR Expert..is there any validity to this claim? (plus no danger of CPU killage lol )

Wow, there's a pretty big price difference between the two, is it really worth it? I will never go SLI.

I wouldn't say so, the 32 is just SLI with two X16 slots instead of the X8 slots we're all used to. Besides, 8X even today is still not saturated for today's highest-end graphics cards.

The top DFI board is $200 on Newegg, the the Asus is $230. $30 isn't much of a difference when looking for the best.

Burn, I'm just quoting HardOCP. They are pretty credible when it comes to testing.

Also the Asus has 8 Phase power and passive heatpipe cooling (and external sata raid with 5 sata ports total). The DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert has 4 phase power and active fan cooling, with four sata ports.

Hmm. The DFI has more USB and has firewire, plus more pci slots, i'm not sure. I'll never go SLI most likey, the ASUS looks just as cool as the DFI and I know it probably will have less issues. I need convincing for either argument.

The Asus has Firewire as well. The DFI has 10 USB and so does the Asus.

Asus: Two PCI-Express x16 slots with SLI support at full x16, x16 mode, one PCI-Express x4 slot (supports x4 and x1 add-in cards) and three PCI expansion slots;

DFI: 2 PCI Express x16 slots, 1 PCI Express x1 slot, 1 PCI Express x4 slot, 3 PCI slots

So basically, the DFI has one more slot; a x4 and a x1 PCI whereas the Asus combines them. Have you seen any x4 or x1 devices on the market? I haven't (except maybe a wireless nic card and the asus also has a model with built in wireless nic, DFI doesn't).

Correction: The DFI has 2 8X slots when in SLI mode.

I am an Asus Fan Boy of sorts--All of my rigs are Asus based--I (used to) like the BIOS configuration, they are the big name in mobos really, I like the 8 phase on that particular board, and if you are going to build an over-the-top gaming rig full x16 would be about right.

I can't see buying that technology just now because 1) it is no longer cutting edge but it's still got a premium price tag 2) newer chipsets for yet unreleased processors are pending 3) current prices for mobos like the A8n32sli will soon start falling when the latest greatest comes out.

Waiting a few month will provide either additional savings for that particular mobo, or a slew of brand new boards to drool over... it's a win, win situatiuon.

Well, I'm not really planning on going AM2 an time soon, as the DDR2 prices are going to rise, and the price tag for the AM2 processors is going to be a very lot..I'm mostly likey gona stick with s939 for a while.

I always wonder why people say "wait a few months till the newer tech is out". do they not realize that in a few months something else will be around the corner? You have to at some point bite the bullet and buy, budget allowing what you find fits your needs. No computer hardware is future proof.

Its a sad sad truth. Have a kickass system you didn't lose an arm for, or have bragging rights that you are on the bleeding edge, for a couple months. Personally, I would choose the former, though I don't have the budget for either, haha.

Trying to Overlock my PC.
Has anybody had similar problem of Clockgen for nF4 (CG-NVNF4)?

It seemed normal with AN8-sli mobo, but after mobo exchanged for
A8N 32 sli, ClockGen comes up corrupted and unusable as per foto.
With / without firewals.

Redownloaded & un/reinstalled it several times.

Get Values were applied.
Any help appreciated.
