Ok well i bought a P5Q-Pro off ebay about 2 months ago for 52£ (LOL now i know why it was so cheap..)

Turns out its a bit of a rubbish overclocker for Quads and i cant get a stable OC over 400 FSB on my q9650 =(

SO.. i am demoting the P5Q to my olddddeee server (IF it supports a P4 640???? Or il just bung it back on ebay..) and buy a new motherboard for my quad!
Sugestions please for a good overclocking mobo! Preferably 150£ or less!

Thanks!

EDIT: Is X48 worth a look at.....?

your typical great overclocking board answer is going to be the Gigabyte EP45 UD3P. Probably the best overclocking board in the LG775 class

Thanks for response.. i was half looking at this board!

On one site i see an EP45T version of the board for 4£ less.. do you know the difference between them at all??
UD3P is a great OCer for quads and is fairly inexpensive.

edit: there are 2 models. One supports DDR2 and the opther DDR3.

THe ud3p is one of the best overclocking boards ever produced. keep in mind you can probably grab it for under your budget, or for 10 less, go for the ud3r if you don't want crossfire.

And here, or here, or here.

Honestly, any gigabyte P35, P45 overclocks great. I used to have a DS3L and wow, for 100 bucks that board is a monster overclocker.

Cheapest place ive found is amazon for 132£ or 1 on ebay for 110.. new or used hmm..?

So wil this board be able to stable my Proc. above 400fsb??

EDIT: Wow thanks for all the links and info =).. much appreciated!!

$119 (and not including rebate) @ Newegg.

Just bought that board, and with a E8500 and casual OCing, it won't be quite bad.

Quad overclocking is a beast in itself, and more so with power and heat it'll produce (one of the main reasons I nixed getting a quad, it's hotter than Hades in GA in the summer!).

To begin with i ran a E8400 with high clocks succesfully on this board.. it just cant seem to handle the quads!

Yes, according to Asus' website, the Pentium 4 Prescott 640 (socket LGA775) is supported by the P5Q Pro.

sig board. quad coming soon. q9400 or q9550
The question being asked about the EP45T board is its a DDR3 board, so unless you getting DDR3 ram, its no good lol
