What would you consider way too much? I am just getting sleeves, but I found them to be an entirely reasonable price.

yea, I can not stand ear buds because they always fall out. I love my in-ear headphones, but they start to have irritating pressure points if I wear them for more than an 1.5-2 hours. so I decided to get some custom tips for mine so that they will not have any pressure points.

I went to an audiologist and had them do it. it is not painful at all, the pink stuff is a soft two-part silicon that they mix and inject into your ears with a syringe type thing. it is cold for a few seconds, and you can't hear well while the molds are setting, but they only have to be in your ears for about 5 minutes before they are set up. The process was not unpleasant at all.

for almost two years I have had the Etymotic Research hf2's:

I love them, but like I said, they can start to be uncomfortable sometimes after prolonged use. So i decided to get some of the custom soft sleeves that ACS offers for them:

I should get them some time in the next month.

Just sleeves? Oh ok, that isn't bad then. The full on custom ones like from sleek audio are 700.

I did consider getting some full customs. they can be had for as low as $300 which seems pretty reasonable to me.

the sleeves were only $100 though, and I am happy with the sound quality of what I have, so I went with that option.
