I fire up my board (had it for almost two years) after major work on it to put water blocks on it and I get the power LED's, I get the video cards and fans to pop on, I get everything except a boot sequence. No boot...no LED error code read out...no beeps.

Afterwards I replaced all the detachable components (PSU, RAM, Vid Cards, fans, external connections, battery, etc) except the i7 920 chip, even removed it from it's case and tried a cardboard box test build, and still no go.

I'm sure I bunged it up when I put on the NB/SB water blocks (worked before...didn't work afterwards) but what do you think actually happened? Did I break a connection under the board when I tightened the screws on the blocks? There's no visible damage...there's no water damage...first time in over 10 years of DIY PC work this happened and without knowing details I must have shorted something. Any chance it's the chip?

I ordered a Asus Rampage III Formula (want to reuse i7 and RAM chips) so hopefully things will go well w/that once it arrives but I loved that X58 board...it was a dependable OC machine...sniff, sniff...

take all the waterblocks off it and post a high res photo of the front and back of the board, but since it was from installing waterblocks, and providing you didnt wet the board with water, id guess you damaged somthing like crushed the northbridge or a transistor
