I don't see why anyone would want to do this considering how cheap some of the LGA775 CPUs are selling for now. Also, why would someone get a LGA775 motherboard if they are not planning on using a LGA775 CPU?
I suppose it would work assuming that the motherboard's bios will detect the installed CPU.
