the ABSOLUTE best SKT A Cooler is the SP-97. It is discontinued, but you can find it usually on ebay or in the near future on the forums (hint)

51c on load is very low already for a socket A. They can easily take up to 65c under load.

i knew skt A could take more heat but wasnt sure how much more. think i'd be a lot happier if i dnt see 60.

Freaked me out a bit too!!! Idles at about 60c too unless powernow is enabled then it drops to around 40c<br><br>
The mobile chips are tougher though and can take the heat more. It runs at 133x14 and proves its not a worry as long as its stable. Saying that i have seen my mobile in desktop get unstable above 50c but thats cos its running ocd at 225x11.

max temps for a mobile one is 95-100c according to amd site. If you dont believe me and i do send images you wont believe them will you? but here they are any way. Apologise about the girly desktop as its the wifes laptop!!<br><br><a href="http://img342.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1hw7.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img342.imageshack.us/img342/6729/1hw7.th.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br><br><a href="http://img342.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2lt2.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img342.imageshack.us/img342/7426/2lt2.th.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br><br>
edit: was doing a memtest run to test new ram and it kept shutting down. I guess it was hitting 95c and shuting down automaticaly. Maybe time to open it up and clean the dust and AS5 it!!!

I used to run a V12 on my old xp-m 2500 and it was kind of loud at high flow but it did the job quite well.
