I've been looking around for a solid state amp for my new Denon ah-d2000 headphones to bring out their full potential.. I'll be running from my Xonar DX to the amp to retain the eq /7.1 positioning that the soundcard offers in games, but will also be listening to a wide variety of music.
I've read a little bit on amps over at head-fi.org where they mention solid state drives the d2000 better than tube amp. Some names I've been coming across that offer amps: Little Dot, Filo, and Starving Student.
I am only looking to connect from my soundcard to the amp to the headphones, so portability is not needed. Looking to spend less than $100. What can you guys recommend?
thanks in advance.
