Hello, this is the 1st time I have an issue where I feel the need to ask for help.

I have very superficial knowledge about sound cards, the only reason I bought one to replace on board audio is due to this forum.

The problem is my PC sound suddenly lost all its power on the left channel ( i have to max volume to hear something ) and the right channel stays the same volume no matter what ( except for mute ).

I was listening to music on a very loud setting when this occurred.
Sound card is Asus Xonar D1.
My speakers are Genius SW-HF5.1 6000

So far I have reached the conclusion that my sound card has the problem ( or pc software maybe ) because the same issue happens whether I use my speakers or my headphones, and weather I use rear sound card connectors or front panel connectors.

I have tried pc restart, complete power off and restart, changing channels between lowest 2 channels and highest 8 channels, speaker configuration ( 2 speakers to 7.1 ), sample rate, mixer settings in asus xonar d1 audio center, left and right balance settings from windows, and environmental effects settings.

I do not think that all of a sudden after 3 months of use the drivers somehow stopped working so I have yet to attempt a driver re-install.

Any suggestions, ideas, possibilities, anything regarding this issue ? Because I have never had anything like this since my first PC back in Pentium 1 era.

Well, you were right, re-installing driver had no effect initially, but after uninstalling 3RVX program and using latest drivers from their website that solved it ( version 7.12.8.1794 )

( note, I am not sure if that program had any effect on this issue but it was the only change I did related to my sound setup in the last week )
