To fix this, you'll need the following:
- A keycap puller
- A toothpick or some other similar object
- 90% or higher Isopropyl Alcohol or something very similar
- A syringe or something similar that will allow you to squeeze out 1 drop at a time
What you do is you fill your syringe or similar thing with like maybe 5-10 drops worth of the alcohol (or just fill it - it doesn't matter). Then, with the keycap removed, hold down the switch with your toothpick or similar object (this keeps your finger out of the way), and put about 3-5 drops directly on top of the stem so that the alcohol goes down inside evenly.
Immediately after this, press the switch over and over fairly rapidly in order to help clean it and distribute the alcohol. Keep pressing it fairly rapidly for maybe 30 seconds. After that, find something else to do for about 10 minutes while you wait for the alcohol to try. Or, sit there and hold the switch down for about 5-10 minutes with the toothpick and maybe blow into it from about 8-12 inches away (in order to blow the driest air possible into it).
You may need to repeat this 1-2 times, and you may need to do it every 1-2 weeks for 1-3 months. I had the same problem with my spacebar and I needed to do this about once every 2 weeks for about 2 or 3 months and today, it's fine.
So, this is what I recommend.
