Recently, I bought 3ft cables from newegg, and I quickly found out they <b>do NOT</b> work. I ran through a plethora of issues, finally coming to the conclusion that my other cables, the normal (18 inch) ones work fine....So to all of you out there who are thinking of buying long cables, buyer beware <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Big Grin"><br><br>
One note: The SATA spec does say that 3ft is doable, but obviously this is not true- Perhaps it is just in my case, but I wanted to give you all a heads-up on what is/went wrong with my cables.

Same goes for IDE. More than 2ft is a no-go. I thought SATA was different though. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/confused.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Confused"><br>

I dunno dude <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/tongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"><br><br>
Perhaps it was the fact that I was in a TechStation, and they aren't shielded against EMI?

Again, I reference the non-EMI condition- Perhaps it was the issue that it wasn't grounded or there was EMI from my monitor?

My 3ft cost me a little more than normal sata cables.. i think it was about 9$ per cable. They are shielded better supposely maybe thats why.
