I'm looking for a free application/website that identifies a song by playing it through your mic.

I used to use Tunatic, but for whatever reason it doesn't work with Windows 7.

I don't have a smart phone either, so that route is out. I've searched google and have only found stupid ones that only work if you sing the song or play their virtual keyboard.. Shame you can't sing a song that has no lyrics..

Tunatic 'doesn't work' with Windows 7 because most manufacturers either aren't writing W7 drivers with the stereo mix option for the sound card, or Win7 is somehow killing it off :\

If you've got a spare 3.5mm cable and a splitter, you could route your computer's output back to Line-In and tell Tunatic to use that.

After moar googling, this came up:

You could try the routing hack I mentioned above, rather than singing or humming

Yeah thanks. I found that site earlier but it didn't work. Then I tried it again for known songs, and it did work. I think my problem is the music I found is original/unreleased. It was on some random youtube video. The guy must have composed it himself.

I really like it, I gotta get the guy to release a FLAC or mp3 for it
