Hello everyone,
I have a few questions about my new laptop. It comes with pre-installed Windows 8 and I wish to install ubuntu 12.04 LTS on that one. Now I noticed that the BIOS is only accessible via a special Sony Vaio tool built into windows 8. ubuntu will not have it and I will have to switch boot options to legacy to get ubuntu running on that one. However, are there any issues I will run into when reinstallung or boot from usb? It feels like if I once uninstalled windows 8 (which is a piece of crap IMHO) there is no way back.
Is this BIOS access policy a Sony Vaio special feature? If yes, it would be a reason for me to return that notebook to the vendor.
