Hi Overclockers,
i Recently bought a vaio...
there are a few Issues/Questions i want cleared up:
1. I was extremely disappointed to find out that the ADVANCED features of the AMI bios were locked *DAMN SONY*... is it unlockable?
I have tried flicking the power on and off *i heard this put the bios in recovery/maintenance mode thus unlocking my option BUT removing the overclock and changes once locked again*
and i heard elsewhere, removing ram and booting then replacing ram would also have a similar effect...
2. i downloaded the bios for my vaio... (R1052Y2.wph)
I cant edit the damned thing because Pheonix Bios Editor says 'ROM is too big, 8MBit MAX!'
(the file is 2,097,152 bytes, the bios writeable memory is 2048k )...
i was hoping to edit the ADVANCED bios tab to make it accessible
can i hex edit or something to make this file usable?
the aim of this is to overclock if i get the option and also just to build on my fairly useless bios knowledge
thnx
Ed
(Please correct any disillusional theories i may conjure)
