Have you tried extracting the files and installing the drivers from the control panel?
First thing what I did was inspect the contacts, they were good. The card is in a good state. Going to try the compatibility thing now, also I'm running win7 64 bitOriginally Posted by BlackGambit
Had a couple more things to add. Are you running a 64-bit version of windows or a 32? Did the card come with a CD?
Also...try running it in compatibility mode. Right click on the setup.exe (or whatever the installer is called) and click troubleshoot compatibility. From there click the option for "this software worked in a previous version of windows".
If this doesn't work, pull the card and make sure its all of the contacts are completely clean (with used cards you can never tell).
There's a always a chance that the card is bad....but seeing as other users out there have reported having this same error with other cards, I suspect its a software issue on Creative Labs side.
No, Don't have acces to one. I'll try to find a random hdd, and try on my current system.
Just emailed the guy, and I don't see a return happening... Guy's kinda well... un-mannered.Originally Posted by BlackGambit
I'd be inclined to agree with ya. Sounds like the card is toast. Sorry man. Was really hoping that wouldn't be the case but if its doing the same thing on multiple machines, its either bad firmware or something on the card itself has gone south (and since you can't get any machine to recognize the hardware...not so much a good way to try updating firmware). Any chance the seller will accept a return?
I wired the money to his account, so yeah... I'm not getting my money back... Oh well.
