I had a thread previous to this, but decided to start a new one to try and get some others to comment.

I also decided to edit out the prices. I'm done spending hours and hours trying to cross reference pricing and performance. That's not to say I didn't take price into consideration. I just don't want to nit pick anymore.

Compared to my current rig (signature), it's night and day. I think this build seems to have a lot of OC potential. I am not planning on CrossFire anytime soon. My current rig will be passed down, after I am done assembling this one.

I decided on a WD VR over an SDD. I just can't justify using an SDD at the moment. The lack of storage size is the main reason. I don't mind a 20 second loading difference.

The GIGABYTE board had virtually no bad reviews, other than DOAs (we all know those don't count, unless it's a super high failure rate).

I chose the i5-3570K over the FX-8350 after a ton of consideration. I still have to say that it seems to me like they both compete with each other very well though.

I have the original Storm Scout and I absolutely love it. It was an easy decision jumping to the CM SC 2.

I like a lot of AA and eye candy, which is why I chose the 7950 over the 660 and 670.

The 620W SeaSonic got some good reviews. It should be able to handle an OC'd rig without CrossFire.

If I'm going to light the inside of my case, I will just grab a white cold cathode to stick at the bottom of the inside of my case.

I also have the Logitech MK520 set. I love it. I usually choose a controller over a keyboard and mouse when I am gaming (if I can). I know that is probably blasphemous to most of you, but get over it! :p

What say you?

You needn't a new thread. you could have easily edited your original one.
Anyways it's nice build and i don't know why the UD4H? it's an odd choice. i would go with the UD3H.. same features less price.
Anyway. good luck and as i said give us a build log and take some photos and benchmarks when you can.

It looks better. ;-) I don't mind paying a little extra for a better looking board. It's okay if others don't feel that way. It isn't that great of a price difference. If I had swapped out everything for something a little cheaper, it would probably only been somewhere around a $100 difference. I am just glad I made it in well under 1.5K! Plus, I am going to pay with the V.me method. It will cut off $50.

Will do! I also changed the name from Spike III to Rad. It's my first build using a Radeon card, so that's where the name comes from. :p

I kind of regret buying the WD VR though. It's a little noisy and I think I paid too much. xD

What's wrong with the V6? It is keeping my temps very cool. After running Prime95 for about a half an hour, not even one core broke 50 degrees. There are a ton of positive reviews on it. I will probably only push my 3570K to 4.0.

Does overclocking the 3570K nullify its boost?

I've read that the 3570K overclocks easily and a lot of times without a voltage bump.

the v6 is good. but when you oc and pump up some juice you will find yourself reaching 70s and 80s. if you add juice may be more..

anyway when you are done with the OC if the temps are like in the 70s.. i would recommend getting a better one.

And yeah i noticed you have a 7950. been lacking concentration that's all

Been running Prime95 on 3.8GHz w/ no voltage bump for about 20 minutes now. The highest temperature I've gotten so far is 51 degrees. That's on my 2nd core. Core 2 seems to be the hottest. 1 and 3 usually stay about 3 to 5 degrees lower than the 2nd core. My 4th core likes to stay about 10 degrees cooler than my hottest core (second).

Virtually soundless. My Xigmatek case fan on the side of my Storm Scout is louder than this thing and that probably moves less air. I think people underestimate Cooler Master.
