So right now I want to delete and have a clean fresh 500gb ssd for my windows drive when i get my laptop. whats best way to go about doing this without damaging the ssd?
I jus go into Disk Utlilty and Erase it format it for windows and be done? or use special software or bootfrom usb key ?

So to make sure, are you moving OSX to another drive?? You can create an recovery USB drive and wipe from there in Disk Utility. Otherwise the whole drive will not be formatted.

Let us know if you need to know how to make a USB installer.
