I have a question about my start menu. I wanted to see what programs start. I right click on the (start) button,go to start menu and click. I see a folder that is named (programs) then 7 other icons. they go as follows, activation,Microsoft update, new office, open office, set programs to access & default, win catalog, win update. Are all these programs starting and running in the background all the time? If so can i delete um and have a faster comp?

If you'd like a faster boot time, go into the windows/system/prefetch folder and delete every file.

Then reboot.

The permanent registry tweak is in the FAQ section.

Basically, if you want the computer to be as fast as it can be software-wise, do tweaks, updates, etc.

To The Legend: I thought they proved that deleting the contents of the prefetch folder wouldnt help?
