Could you stack those a bit? They don't resize, because each picture isn't big enough to trigger it.
So many people are still using XP 32-bit with 2GB of ram..
What were the ratios like before?
This isn't news, it's an observation. Also this has been reposted so many times it's not even funny. Please request removal or relocation of thread to an admin.

Nothing wrong with 2 GB RAM on a casual gaming rig.

That is what prebuilt systems usually use.

This is cool, I was planning on an all-AMD rig nest time. Probably Bulldozer with matching GPU.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but steam does not accurately depict the market AT ALL. Although i'm sure a much smaller gain has been made at large.

I think what I was most surprised by was the change in market share of Windows 7.

And... the Ruskies are gaining on us!

Edit: ...why are people still buying 8600's?

Yeah... I guess I can understand the sound card thing, but I could not go back to gaming on a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor (especially with first-person shooters)... *blech*

4800 is a broad series of cards (4830, 4850, 4870, 4890) while for example the GT200b's are being split into 275, 285, etc...
This is steam which doesn't mean much but what about actual numbers for all games.

Have you forgot the whole dx 10 vista thing? This is nothing. Dx 11 is catching on way faster than that. It's not fail by any means.

ATI Should be doing well. Just need some games to use the hardware. I would love to see larabee make an appearance next year, shake things up.

Indeed.

Dx10 was fail because most of the benefits were on the programmer's side, and they were stripped out by Nividia. After having reviewed the most recent news article on here about how Nvidia and AMD's stream processors work, it seems obvious to me that Nvidia knew that the real Dx10 would benefit AMD heavily due to AMD's SPs more geared towards higher amounts of smaller coding.

Until we have games that use DX11 umm nobody knows anything. FYI . And by the time we do have those games, the 5970 will be old news( still beast just not the king ). the 6xxx series will be the new king and the lower end 5xxx series cards will be struggling to play the newer games on high settings. Again I would rather not have a card that predates the DX version Im running on it.
