Steam Down?

Why yes. it does seem to be down. i crashed in L4D2 then when all my friends urged me to rejoin i had to restart steam and then it said its down for maintenance.

I noticed the Friends servers are down, but I haven't tried logging back in, and I'm kind of afraid to.

Doesn't seem down to me, just picked up a game in MW2.

do not try and play MW2, it will reset you to rank 1...im gunna find steam's servers and smash all the harddrives

It's not steam I don't think. My friends list and everything is still working no problems. Just got out of a TF2 game even.

Been playing L4D 2 for the past couple of hours with no trouble, MW2 was fine earlier as well. But it wouldn't surprise me if they are struggling with demand due to both MW2 and L4D 2 comming out within a week of each other and both being focused around online play

was fiddling in MW2 a few hours ago but its definitely down now

Down for me too. Haven't tried going into a game yet.

Yeah there down right now for maintenance it says.
