So I had to reinstall and now that I located my games on steam and am downloading they are loading at 1.9mbps. My speed is an easy 25mbps when I run a speed-test so why is it downloading so slow? Any ideas?also, will I keep all of my settings or will I have to start over on my games?

The speedtests usually show your speed in megabits. Steam is showing your download speed in megabytes. There is a huge difference. 25 Mb/s is a little over 3 MB/s. Lower-case is bit; Upper-case is byte.
You're still about a MB short, but that's probably a Steam-server or internet congestion issue more than anything else.

People need to understand that just because you have a 25 Mbps connection doesnt mean you will always download that speed. I am guessing that you have cable as well. Meaning that you are sharing bandwidth with the people around you. This could have an impact on your speed during peak hours.
Also you can only download as fast as the other party can upload. Meaning lets say Steam has the ability to upload at 100mbps (im sure its more than that...but lets use that number for yucks and giggles) and 1000 people are downloading from them at the same time...you are going to get no where near your 25Mbps...

Thanks for the info... its informative. Well I should have my game soon. Even though I had to wait a few hours I hope all of my progress is still on there. Oh, and what about these folders? Is there a quicker way to install my bring my games back?
