Case Modification View 31 TG

Motherboard Mounting Backplate/Cable Management Shroud Cover

Materials:

1. 18" x 19" x 3/16" foam posterboard
2. X-Acto knife
3. Carpenter Square
4. Ruler
5. Sharpie

Case manufacturers don't have any clue what you are doing with your case and they make holes for everything. A quick and easy way to cover these holes is to make a cut out the shape that you need and then mounted to the back of your case.

Leave a gap between the foam board and the case to allow for other wires to be hidden and only bring through what wires you want to show. In particular, the 24 pin motherboard custom cable my for doing and the same for the GPU which is going to be mounted vertically.

Foam posterboard computer modification cost around 3 bucks. you can also use acrylic which is about $12 for the same piece and paint it as well. Acrylic is a lot harder to work with and for this application, I believe the posterboard is just fine.

Quadriplegic trial and error: Steam Punk First-Time Case Mod View 31 TG

So, as some of you may know I have had plenty of issues with my first 8700 K which ended up destroying to motherboards somehow. But it is finally in and I have a good POST, loaded Windows 10 and have had it up and running minus all the modification stuff I have been working on the side some paint. Here's a current picture with the DIY painted motherboard which turned out very well with the galvanized paint look. Currently, going to be delidding the CPU after I get a good test bench also adding a 240 radiator to the top similar loop configuration including the new motherboards VRM cooling.

De-lidded the i7-8700K with the #Rockit88

De-lidded the i7-8700K with the #Rockit88 successful start afterwards have not recorded any temperatures as of today but had around 30° when setting up programs and downloading software for the new computer. That was with a stock air cooler. made video will have updated soon. So easy a Quadriplegic can do it :) QuadCapable PPCs Builder's Club
