Stock CPU Fan and Heatsink

501 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Realm_walker
I just wanted to know what the specs on a stock CPU Fan and heatsink are on the AMD Sempron 2400+ so I could compare it to any other cpu fans I might be looking at to buy. Thanks

the specs for the stock HSFs (im guessing you mean their fan size etc) is 60mm for the sktA sempron and the heatsink itself is just good enough for stock speeds, lapping the HSF will lower temps around 5c though.

Whats lapping? *sry for the long wait for responce, I compeltly forgot I posted this thread:S:S* oh and by specs I ment how fast does the fan turn, deceble level and how much air it moves.

Usually the bottom of the heatsink (part that touches the cpu) is either rough, or it's not perfectly flat. Lapping it means, getting sand paper of different grades, and sanding the bottom of the heatsink down on a flat surface, from the thicker grit to the finest to get a mirror finish on the heatsink.

This helps temperatures because by the heatsink being perfectly flat/smooth it makes better contact with the cpu, and it's able to absorb the heat better.

A Guide
