Stopping an XP Installation

So the other day I by accidentally tried to install Windows XP Pro instead of go into the recovery console. Now, when it boots, it'll try to complete an installation of the OS, which I don't want. Is there anyway to stop this?

Thankfully when I go into the OS menu (by pressing F8 on boot), my old OS is still there (Windows XP Media Center edition).

Actually, I believe there is. Try the following:
  1. Boot from the XP installation CD.
  2. When it's finished loading everything, press R to go into that recovery console thing using the Command Prompt (which is very much like DOS).
  3. In the console, type fixboot and press Enter.
  4. Confirm that you want it to run Fixboot.
  5. When it's finished, type Exit, press Enter, and remove the installation CD.
If it still insists on trying to finish the installation after that, then there might be another way, like perhaps using fixmbr.
