So I am jetlagged after getting back to the United States from a business trip, and earlier this morning I knocked a glass of water onto my laptop by accident. Now my laptop will not turn on at all. It won't charge or anything. Pretty sure the motherboard is gone.

Anyway, the display has this strange flickering issue even though the unit does not even have any power as far as I know. Anyone know what this issue is? I mean I'm sending the laptop to Squaretrade for repairs but I am curious to know what it is. I made a video of it and posted it below:

Did you give it a chance to dry out before powering it on again?

The laptop still has power, chances are the water got on to the screen ribbon on the motherboard and that has fried the connection hence the white lines.

No, I just turned it on. I can see why that might be a problem though. I just dried it with some paper towels. It is strange though, the laptop was nearly out of battery when this happened. I am very surprised it still receives power.
