9800GTX+'s are around $120 after rebate now, so that one is overpriced.
lol, the link is for a gts 250 which is exactly the same as a 9800gtx+. lol, don't overpay for rebranded crap dude.
plus the GTS 250 can SLI with a 9800gtx+... so its the same card, just more expensive.
We really need to know what you plan to use the card for, what games and at what resolution, Grunt is correct the GTS250 is just a 9800 GTX+ with a new cooler you posted a 9800GTX which is the last gen 65nm card
so I should just hold off. Its gonna be part of a huge upgrade for my pc. This 4550 sucks!!! Either that or a psu and a cpu cooler

I was hoping to play crysis and a couple of other games at 1440-900. The 4550 does nothign for me and maybe to play some tv and movies

Take a look at these they are all 9800GTX+ cards and under 160.00

I would would pick the GTX over the gt for the extra stream processors and the GTX+ for the faster GPU speeds, scratch that I just took a look at your specs. your power supply would be stressed to run the GTX cards maybe you should upgrade your power supply first I wouold go with at least a 750-800 watt unit just so you would not have worry about your PSU.
That is a great mother board you have but you will never be able to go SLI with it so if you want
an Nvidia card you should get something like a GTX260 which are still dropping in price
here are some Evga cards, Evga has tools for the OC enthusiast like Precision tool and voltage tuner that can make a vanilla card run like a FTW card

Sorry I keep editing and making it longer, I was able to play Crysis at 1400X1050 @ high W/ 2X AA and get never drop below 60 FPS (I run V-sync on ) when I had a GTX 260GTX sc

That depends on where you live. I get stuff from their NJ warehouse the next day. For the money, I would wait a day or two for a $50 price difference.

edit: That company is in CT, so I assume you live there too. I live in MA and always get my stuff in a day. (again, as long as the order is placed early enough for them to get it shipped and it is coming from NJ)

thats a very wrong statement, you do not need a 750W PSU for a 9800GTX and your PSU is stressed more that way. I remember reading somewhere, that if the PSU is to big or to small you cut its life. Id look more near the 450-500W range

performs similarly with the 9800GT, better when AA is enabled and $40 cheaper.

Hold off a little a get a new CPU cooler first, and then overclock your CPU some more. Then buy a nice 4870 1GB, and that will be good for you
