Hi!
So, I'll cut right to the chase. My current setup is following:
Computer > 15m HDMI cable > AV-receiver > TV / speakers
There are several problems with this setup. The first one is that I just accidentally broke the HDMI plug. I tried fixing it (one cable was loose) but it didn't work. The second problem is that if I wanted to listen to music I had to extend the view to two screens for the audio to work.
I've been thinking about getting a Rapsberry Pi and just streaming everything through wifi to AV-receiver but I'm not sure if it would work like I want it to work.
The way I'm hoping I could set it up is that the Raspberry Pi would show up on my computer as a playback device (speakers). Also I would like to be able to stream games/movies to it.
I can provide more info on what I want (I don't actually know what I want...) if that is needed, but I won't be buying the Raspberry Pi before I know this is doable.
Help is much appreciated!
