hi guys,

Ive pposted once on this matter about 10 days ago and so far i still cant get around my problem , so with that in mind i am again asking for help of the pro's.

I overclocked My PC 9System Specs below) up to 2880 (320FSb X9 Multiplier). Dead stable Orhos runs for ever. However if i attempt even the slightests increase, even 4 or 5 incriments in the FSB then Orthos starts to give errors or the PC reboots. Im sure i should be able to get to 3gig, so can anybody shed any light on what is happening. Somebody has already mentioned increasing the NSB voltage but i raed that this runs very very hot anyway so im reluctant to do this. i did try increasing the V core to 1.375 (2 incriments on the settings in Bios, but again this made no difference.

Can anybody shed any light on this.

OK, what are your full BIOS Settings at, your RAM should be @ stock settings and voltages, maybe try 2GB instead of 4GB, this can cause problems. Raise NB voltage to 1.4 lock PCI-E freq to 105mhz disable CPU settings and all spread spectrums, disable legacy USB support, and PECI mode. Raise FSB to 334 and lock multi to 9 raise vcore to 1.4 it should work... then if you want less vcore, lower and stress test until it starts faulting then set back to previous setting...

These settings gave me 356 FSB (3.2ghz) with my E6600 on my P5N32-E SLI Plus. My chip was a bad week so the CPU voltage is extra high, I'm sure yours doesn't need that much.

Also, check your Memory voltage and timings!! This board automatically undervolts some memory. Mine was at 1.89v (5-5-5-15) when it needed to be at 2.1v (4-4-4-12).

VCore 1.425V
1.2 HTT - 1.3V
NB - 1.35V (A lot of people do use 1.4v for this)
SB - 1.5
VTT - 1.35

I ran 2 instances of Orthose for 10 hours on these settings with 0 errors.

with regards my memory (Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX 2x1GB)
at the moment the default voltage setting is 1.9 volts , is this not correct or does this need to be increased and if so what could be the repercussions of making voltages higher. What voltage should i be looking to set this too

I had some problem with my ocz ram voltage being set (auto) too low also. Once I increased the voltage to 2.1 I was able to reach a 40% increase oc. It was like 2.6, but then I ran into a wall at 372fsb. Plus my core temps were getting high under load.

Anyway, check your bios settings and check the memory fsb ratio.

Just set it to stock voltage. I would also check timings in bios. If you bought them from newegg, the voltage and timings should be listed, or you could just look on corsairs site.

The general rule with voltage is the higher it is above stock, the shorter the lifespan of the part will be. i.e. Most cpus last 10 years, overvolting it will make it last 5 or less probably.
