This just started today; I'm trying to think of details to add. Everything has been working flawlessly for months. Today, at some random point, my sound suddenly stopped working. I restarted, it returned; during a YouTube video, a sort of scratch/spike came up and the sound died again; restarted, sound came back, started listening to music and in less than 10 minutes sound went fuzzy and severely slowed down; I noticed that various noises since then (like my e-mail notification ping) are slowed down and fuzzy.
I don't see anything that would cause this. No recent software updates, etc. Any ideas? Dying sound card? Anything seemingly unrelated that would cause this?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: (resolved?)

As I said above, my second video card wasn't starting up, and the BSOD was a video error; driver re-installs and reseating didn't fix it, so it's on its way back to Newegg (their customer service is amazing, seriously). I'm back up to my regular clocks, and sound has been running flawlessly; I can't say why the issues are related, but so far it seems as if the second card was somehow causing the issues.
