Suggest a CPU cooler

Hey, I bought a sunbeam core 2 contact freezer :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835207004 for my new quad for this mobo: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P45XE-WiFiN and this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042. Both of the side attachment clips that hang off to the sides had trouble fitting but the one that faces in the directions of the top fan sticks in between the fan blades and makes it useless. I need a fan that is just 1 cm shorter (the heatsink itself was fine, but the two clips that hang off were problematic). Cheaper is always better, but not at the sacrifice of cooling. Anything in the cooling range of the core 2 contact is fine. Thanks in advance.

The Zalman 9700 and t.r.u.e look larger that the core 2 contact, but the 9500 looks fine. 120 mm is fine, it just needs to be no larger whatsoever. A lower priced cooler would be nice.

Would a downdraft cooler like the Noctua or Thermalright ones fit?

That looks good. I'll have to do an exact measure to make sure it fits. Is it a good cooler? Also, could I mount the cooler so it blows at the top fan or to the graphics card (I don't think the latter would be a good idea).

You could but performance would be better facing the rear. Don't know about performance but it's not a bad cooler.

If you get an AC7, it will suck in air from the side of the case:

I also absolutely love the mounting method. A little complicated the first time, but truly ingenious. I use it for almost all of my 775 builds for customers because it's cheap, great at cooling, has a secure mounting method (not those stupid tabs), is quiet, has a 4-pin PWN fan, is vibration-resistant, and is sort of set-and-forget.
I just looked in my case and here are the exact measurements I would have to fit my cpu cooler in:
11.5 cm from top fan to bridge cooler
3 cm from top fan to cpu pin hole
1 cm from bridge cooler to cpu pin hole
Bridge is 3.5 cm high
2cm from cpu pin hole to bridge cooler by the back case fan

1. Aim the fan on your Xigmatek s1283 so that it blows into the back 120mm fan.

2. It will fit just fine.

3. If you do get it, grab the Bolt through Kit

I would not worry at all, in my Sig rig, I had my Xigmatek S1283 in there, on my EVGA 590a SLi AM2 board, didn't have an issue as far as space in the case goes.

Is it fine to do that with my core 2 contact cooler?

Is the 120mm xig too large for my computer then? and is the 92mm good? Should I wait for a better price on it? I will probably get for christmas if anytime (I am using the stock now and will start ocing with a new cooler)

Is the s964 any noticeably better than the s963? It seems the only dif would be in the sound.

The Xig will fit fine. The actual height is 159mm not 120mm and your case is 8.1" wide. My case is also 8.1" wide and I have a Vendetta 2 (159.5mm) in mine with room to spare.

Its not the height I'm worried about, its the width. Look at my specs for the dimensions on my previous post.

Nothing wrong with that CM cpu cooler. I used it on a build which cools a overclocked E2160 up to 3.00ghz very well.

The suggestion was made because of the OP case dimensions. Not everyone will have a huge case to work with.
