So I am leaving the country on March 12th for an extended vacation/ study abroad session. I will be taking a course in Prague and need to get a laptop as there will be a lot of writing required and my tablet just is not practical for that.

Lenovo had their y400 14" laptops on sale so earlier today I ordered one. However the estimated shipping date just jumped from 2/23 to 3/7 and that 2 week delay is likely going to push the arrival date too close to my Flight.

Anyways short of the long is I would like to keep my options open for other laptops. I would like to spend about 800-1000 and would prefer a discrete graphics card if possible. Besides that I am not particularly picky, i probably wont be doing much on it besides playing LoL, some guild wars too and maybe a bit of Black mesa, so nothing really graphically intensive.

Portability is a Must as I will be staying in Hostels and it has to fit into a 70L backpack which I will be carrying on my person for hours at a time. So a 17" 10lb desktop replacement is really not an option.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have guys!
