Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer 120mm?

Anyone have any success with this cooler? It's only about 15$ after rebate, which makes me wonder, but frosty tech, whom I've seen alot of forums recommend, has it as thier #6 cooler for the amd platform, and thier review is pretty good. Someone here mentioned the 92mm, but at the same price as the 120mm I think I'll stick with 120mm if I get it.

It's a good cooler overall. Check out the reviews, most sites rate it favorably. However, the mounting system doesn't seem to be too great.
Another alternative is the Cooler Master 212+ if you don't want to deal with rebates. It's priced at around 30USD and cools very well.
The fins are a tad fragile (Due to the poor packaging), but it's otherwise good.
I use that CPU cooler. Because I've never compared it to anything besides stock, the only thing I can honestly say is that it cools way better than stock, and that it is quieter. I actually bought it because it was often mentioned as a great, inexpensive air cooler.
It is decent, but there are better options out there. It is basically the cooler which got the current 'tower' design popular (such as the design for the TRUE, and the Noctua NH-U12P).

It falls a little behind the Xigmatek HDT-S1283, but if it only costs you ~$15 at the end of the day, I say go for it. You still getter tremendously better cooling compared to stock (which will allow for higher overclocks), plus you can save the money for a sound card or something.
Thanks everyone, I ended up getting it (and a whole new computer, black friday was good to me
, we'll see how it goes!

That's ok news about the computer, but congratulations on the new cooler

Have fun with the new sink, should serve you well. Just be careful when installing it since the mounting bracket is a PITA
My friend is using one to cool his 4th core unlocked, 3.5Ghz OC, Phenom II X3 720, and his temps are pretty good, I think 20-something idle and about 45C load.

Haha I know, but I figured if I get a nice new cooler, I might as well pick a new pc to go with it

Thanks for the warning kow, at least they only have to go on once (hopefully)

On the installation, it's an annoying one if you have a top mounted PSU. After finding two way to have things in the way of mounting it, I found out that if your mobo is already mounted, you need to put your PSU in first, slide it all the way over to the optical drive, then mount the CCF. It's still frustrating that way and it would probably be easier if you mount it on the mobo while the mobo is outside the case, put the PSU in and slide it over, and then put the mobo in.

Edit: Oh yeah and congrats on the new build

Hmmm, not sure where you are coming up with your 2 better options, or the fact it falls behind the Xigmatek HDT-S1283. The Nocuta w/ fan settings on high ran hotter than the CCF on low settings! The CCF on high fan settings killed it by 3.5C on 85W, over 5C on 150W. The CCF also performs better than the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 by 0.7C, not much, but for an overclocker thats almost 1C!!!

It's not $15 anymore, and surely wasn't when I bought it @ around $30, which is where it is now! But even @ that price, for the performance this cooler delivers, it's one of the best on the market!

It's a good cooler, but FrostyTech is overrating it

This. Frostytech is the worst chart to look at to compare CPU coolers...I mean they have two 92mm Xiggy heatsinks and the Zalman 9700 within 1.5c of a TRUE on a Quad...really?

Synthetic charts don't mean anything
