super pi-how to score good?/

hi there was just wondering wot it takes to get a good super pi score? iv got a q6600 @3.0ghz with 4gb of 800mhz ddr2 at stock and get 16.467 for the
1m! is this ok and wot can i do to get a better score?? cheers

also which is the best version of super pi for me to use on vista x64?
the standard super pi is the super pi mod 1.5 listed in the sticky thread. Make sure you have everything turned off in the background, it's best to run in XP.

Overclock the cpu. This will net you a better time.

Also you may try to turn off all but 1 core (in bios) and up the cpu speed as far as you can go.
The biggest single way to decrease your time is to close all unnecessary background processes (especially explorer.exe) Make sure your ram timings are as low as they can go. Or if you want faster ram speeds then leave them loose.

Faster ram speed is more important than timing, but after you find a good speed then lower timings.
lower cas and yeah close everything i got like 13 seconds before.
