I just bought this stuff and I was going to write a review tonight, but for some reason, my RAID0 array decided it didn't want to play nice anymore and crash.

Anyways, review coming tomorrow! I'm already at DDR2-1000 4-4-4-10 without even trying, I know I can get it higher with teh same timings when I put forth the effort.

Anyways, thought I'd load up some pics of the Wal-Mart lookin' ram.

Hehehe...Wal-Mart ram...

Super Talent T800UX2GC4 Week 09, Year 07

2.35vdimm [email protected]

Unfortunately, something that I did not know, is that the P5B-Deluxe limits you to 2.45vdimm, and going into this I was willing to go as high as 2.55, possibly 2.66 to get as high as I could, even at the risk of killing them

All in all, this is great ram, not the best, but definetly an awesome set for almost 100 bucks exact.

Other settings I tried that DID NOT work:
2.45vdimm/[email protected]
2.45vdimm/[email protected]

Opinios?

Have something you want me to try?

i have a set of these and they are great havent had any problems at all yet and you can clock them very high. just be careful kracker the heatspreaders on mine were glued on and i almost ruined them to see what chips they had on them.
Well, I'm not gonna be able to give a in depth review tonight due to time restraints, but here's a tiny peek at teh performance. I wont run this 24/7, but this isn't about the performance of the entire system, just that of the ram.

when you bought this ram did it happen to be behind a glass case?
if not i will have some by next week

I am RMA'ng the same kit..
Mine werent even stable at 800mhz, on 4-4-3-8, with any voltage...the highest clock I could get was ~960mhz CAS4...but they still were not stable and would not boot at CAS5..period.

I hope you have better results! It sounds like those crappy things corrupted your Windows too!
Same here..fresh install here I come!

They are not D9 Ic's.. they are some low bin, generic....craps out at 2.2v or above.

I am currently looking to replace them with some Mushkin DDR2 1066, [which are DH9's..confirmed] or some Geil DDR2 800, which feature the same IC's as the Mushkins..just a ~20$ cheaper.

Look again, I think you missed my pics, lol. The cheap IC's your talking about are Promos

And they didn't corrupt windows, it was just a coincidence.

Also, I didn't get a screenshot, but they were stable at 1.95vdimm DDR2-800 4-4-3-8

great ram. i have a pair. (although mine came with dif heat spreaders) and mine are alot older weeks. early last year. before they started using the cheapo chips. i believe i was getting nearly 1120mhz at like 2.25v and 5-5-5-15 rock solid.

id love to use them more.... but...
my p5n32-e sli doesnt like the ram AT ALL!

cant figure out why.... all i know is after a few days. pc wouldnt boot with the one stick. (unless i tried for like 4 hours straight) and then after a month or so. the other stick started having troubles. (i think i ended up killing my sticks
)

great ram though! if my mobo liked it. id still be using it!

only bad thing i have to say about them was. (the heat spreaders are glued on!!!!)
other than that. they get a 10/10 outa my book!

I guess I just got a bad lot then...they just 'felt' wrong straight away..I knew something was up when I went from 1.8-2.25v and still no stability at stock clocks/speed

Looks like you lucked out! Gotta love the low latencies..is a 4-3-3-7 do-able?

ROFL..nvrmnd..just saw the pics..CAS3 at 800mhz...yes mine were definitely bunk!

I was referring to a 800mhz clock..you bested that by a mile. Glad to know, others are getting good ones..

*off topic..what are your opinions on these vs. a set of Dh9's ..800mhz for 104$ or 1066mhz for 125$? Since I have to RMA them..i need a replacement for around 100$. tnx

Well, I'll probably get tons of argument for this, but I'm a firm believer that it's best to run at the rated FSB of the system (1:1) with as tight as timings as possible, rather than higher FSB on the ram (4:5 ect.) with loose timings.

I was under the impression that these chips are shipped with either D9GMH's, D9GKX's or Promos. I don't know the characteristics of Promos, but I do know that of D9's and it looks like I may have gotten Promos.

I like the highest speed and lowest latency...I have a set of G.Skill Hz's doing 1000mhz, 4-4-4-10-4...and would just as soon buy those again...the Mushkins are tempting though.

I can go much higher but I don't want to kill it. 1000|4438|2.15v I have a 120mm right on them though

Oh yea, if anyone understands this... I got a 680i a1 back from an RMA on a 680i tr. I'm all happy to see that I get the new mobo, yay!, bad move I guess :/ I can run 7 * 500 which is 100% stable at 2000 fsb, but if I do any 8 multi, crashes in a few minutes. 1800 1850 fsb, crash. I don't even change anything except the fsb and the multi, crash. It really can't be the cpu since it started doing this right as I switched boards. I don't get it though, I can run 2000 fsb with almost all minimum voltages which I love, but I can not run an 8 multi, even at 1600fsb... Anyway, I will end the rant, this is just a sandra screen and cpuz of the current configuration. I think I may try 3.6 or 3.7 in a 7 multi, since thats what I ran at an 8 multi for months.

Yeah, great Ram. I had the early version with the D9's and the Silver heatspreaders as well as the Blue promos versions. Awesome overclockers.

One thing to keep in mind is the latency orders you enter in bios. On my P5W DH the the second and third latency was one way, on a P5B Deluxe I set up, It was the other way round. Took a few blue screens for me to work it out but they crash very easily if you get the second and third latencies the wrong way.

Just thought I'd bump this thread.

I've since moved up to 4 gigs of this stuff and it is absolutely amazing.

And they are only $50 on the 'Egg now
