Ok, well what would I get to hook up to my router? I have 3 computers in my room now (Cousins, Friend's, Mine... freeloaders.. Using my internets..) but we are 1 port short on my router from having everyone in my house have internet, so im wondering what should I get to hook up to my router? Another router or a switch? From my understanding a switch would be better, but I could be wrong.

Yes, get a switch. Whatever you do don't get another router. Two daisy-chained routers will wreak havoc with your network.

Check out this FAQ by SoaDMTGguy. Although, he doesn't mention hubs, there are basically like switches except that it spilts the connection. For example, if you have a 100Mb connection, with a switch all computers connected will get 100Mb. On the other hand, if you have three computers on a hub, they will get 33.33Mb each.

You might want to check on the switches capability to have 2 systems online simultaneously.

I'm not that networking saavy, but I have a switch on my home network, and I can only have one system online at a time.

...perhaps I have done something incorrectly, but I think that I was thorough in my instruction-reading and troubleshooting. Anyone..?

If I have installed correctly you might want another router so that you do not have the issue that I have
