switching from noctua to lapped TRUE with AMD 940BE/M3A79-T

I am having clearance issues with my noctua and my dominator ram on my M3A79-T mobo, and i just bought a TRUE hoping to fix the problem, will i have the same clearance issues with the TRUE as i am having with the noctua? My noctua fan sits firmly against my first ram stick.

BTW, i already have my noctua sold to my brother which is part of the reason why i am switching. I bought the lapped true from crazypc with extra fan clips for an additional fan for push pull.

Well the TRUE is a monster and a takes a lot of room. If the Noctua didn't fit why did you go for a TRUE?
better cooling... And the design looks like it isn't as "deep" as the noctua.
just rotate the cooler 90 degrees if it doesn't fit in a certain direction.
The TRUE is about a quarter inch narrower, if that helps your situation.

Also..no need for push pull man. Get a good 120x38mm fan.

1/4in would help a lot! it would probably even let me use a 38mm fan... maybe.

where can i find a 38mm fan that would work good for me at a decent price? and do you think my temps will come down much coming from a non lapped non washer modded noctua with 2 noctua fans in push pull to a lapped/washer modded true with 1 38mm fan?

lastly, anyone using a 38mm fan on a m3a79-t with domminator ram so i know if it will work or not before i order the fan?

the Panaflo's have better bearings and will last longer than the Kaze but any of those will work

so, anyone have a pic of a true on a m3a79-t mobo?
A good 120x38... A delta... or Panaflow that pushes about 100 CFM works great for me with a fan controler

And with the true, I have to schooch up the fan to service the RAM. But what I did was use springs instead of the stock clips which I got at a local hardware store. Picked up two tht were way to long and cut them to size. But, I did actually screw them to the fan which makes installing easier. It just takes a little needle nose plier tweaking to do the job.

I want some pics if at all possible... I would absolutely love to be able to use a 38mm fan but my noctua fan on my noctua heatsink pushes my ram to the point that my ram stick in the first slot sits like this /... well maybe not quite that much of an angle but it definitely pushes it a good bit, but the true could be totaly different as was suggested that it isn't as thick as the noctua and may let me use a 38mm after all.

Sorry, I still have not found my camera and am researching a new one as per my post in the photography section

At least 5C

Here's a TRUE in a 780i with a 38mm-thick fan for reference. I know it's different but....yeah why not.

Thanks for the pic man! +rep
This sucks... I dropped my loaded temps 5*C by switching from the noctua to the lapped true on my unlapped phenom 940, but the true is taking up one of my dual channel ram slots so i am having to run my ran in single channel now... Any ideas on how to remedy this without having to buy anything?
You can try to have the TRUE laying horizontally, that way the fans goes underneath the TRUE.
there isn't any way that i see to mount the true horizontally, the mounting bracket that came with it only lets you mount it like this, or thats the only way i can figure out how to mount it with the supplied bracket:

All the guys telling you to rotate it are using intel platforms, which allow them to be able to mount it horizontally, with an amd platform you can only mount it vertically. I think you're out of luck unless you make your own custom mounting brackets.

Edit: I mean the direction of the airflow when saying horizontally/vertically
