Hey guys, just recently, my computer started to hang. I have no clue why i treat it so well

- it will like totally stall, everything will stop in its place, the mouse will the video im watching whatever it may be. But when i press ANY button on my keyboard it will resume to where it should have been during the time it lagged.

So if my comp hung while i was moving my mouse towards the START button, when i press any button on my keyboard, my mouse will automatically appear over the start button.

i have re-installed windows, this didn't change anything, i have un-clocked (sp?) my CPU( it was only OC'ed by the BIOS' ) and still nothing.

ERRRR

i have ran countless anti-virus scans ( panda )

and ran countless spy ware programs ie. hijackthis and adaware SE

So any help on this would be really appreciated!

Head on over to Nvidia.com and download and install the most recent motherboard drivers. Im not sure this will fix your problem, as it seems to me if this was the problem it would have been happening from the start, but we can try ruling things out either way. Also, mouse and keyboard drivers installed?

ok so i have installed that.... i didn't change anything in the BIOS, i was excited to see new features, but there wasn't any more options. So it hasnt done it yet! so thats good and i have been running for 15 minutes now, and it usually does it every 10 min or so. So its positive

I don't wanna start a new thread, but i have no options in my BIOS for my video card, should there be any? its PCI

Installing that driver has nothing to do with the bios. Installing the driver will change how Windows communicates with the motherboard, not how windows communicates with the bios. Hopefully that update fixed the problem, if not there are more troubleshooting steps we can take. That being said, im heading to sleep.

O noes, the hang is back! My computer just hung again, and with the swift click of a key on the keyboard it snapped out of it. What is wrong this is bugging me. I'm glad we got somewhere and have nailed down some issues though.

So any more suggestions on this?

Ok, quick question, can you remember any hardware changes you made around the time this started? Try installing the drivers for your keyboard and mouse.
