TA790GX 128m Will not load windows

Just purchased a TA790GX 128m mobo along with a AMD Phenom II X4 920 2.8GHz processor. The system comes up fine untill I try to load windows. It stalls at the loading screen and just sits there. Even booting with a windows install disk for a fresh install, it will load all drivers and sit at the starting windows screen. I have updated to the latest bios, removed all Unnecessary hardware. I even swapped out the cpu with another phenom II with the same results. I thought it may be a problem with the sata drives so I removed all drives and just tried running the windows install. Still nothing.
I have been to biostars website but it doesn't seem like they have much for tech support. I really love all the features of this board and would really like to get this thing working. Has anyone seen anything similar to this or have any suggestions?

Go into the bios and ensure that your CPU/RAM is configured correctly (IE has enough power and is at its correct defaults)
i bet you need to flash the bios.

i bet is says your cpu is not acpi capable or something.
I did flash the bios on the mobo. I have the latest available firmware. When I try to load windows command line it gets stuck on the file "acpitabl.dat"
Roadkill44.... welcome to OCN!

Clear the CMOS, then go into the BIOS and load optimal defaults, save and exit. Then, as Teufle mentioned, go back into the BIOS, and set vcore to 1.35V and set the memory voltage and timings to the manufacturer's specifications.

You can help us to help you by filling in your system specs in your User CP.... thanks!

Edit: Did you try different SATA ports?

Up and running. Winginit you dead on. Thanks to all for for your help.
You're welcome.... good to hear that you got it going!
The problem was that Windows would not start. It would get to the loading screen and hang. The system would not load any other OS either including knoppix and even windows setup disk. Mouse and keyboard would go dead and I needed to cycle power.

The solution was to clear the cmos and set the vcore 135v. The only thing I did with the memory was set the type of ram. In this case to ddr 1066. I believe the main thing was resetting the cmos as I changed the other settings without any luck the first time through.

Now I can't wait to mess up some more stuff trying to OC this beast.

unfortunately i wont be overclocking this setup. ive gone through too many computers
but on the good side. hopefully this one will last at least 3 years instead of the 2 year rebuild cycle im currently one. and actually this computer hasnt even been 1 year.
