I need a PSU for my upcoming build.
Tacens is a spanish brand, I'm portuguese and I found that PSU for 42€ which I immediately thought was one of those cheap PSUs that will blow my pc up.

I plan using this with a GTX970 + 4690k with some overclock.
But further inspection says that the PSU is 80+ silver?

Here is the site: http://www.tacens.es/fuentes-de-alimentacion/fuentes/radix-vii-ag/

And here is a picture of the side of the PSU:

Is this a great PSU for the price or is it utterly crap?

I'd have no clue who made it so I'd say utter horse crap

First off its not a 600 watt unit as the 12v rail can only do 504 watts.
Second and i quote RealHardTechX advises against buying power supplies from this brand.

The OEM on the unit you bought is Andyson so i am pretty sure its junk, but since there are no reveiws i cant confirm that.
Send it back if you still can.

OME on that one is Andyson.

Tacens uses either HEC Andyson or Huntkey which means some of the worst OEM´s.

I got fooled by the 80+ silver. If its not silver or even 80+ how do they put it there?
They sent to the reviewers PSUs made by other OEM (those were the real 80Plus Silver rated units, from FSP i think...) but then they sold units made from other OEM (Andyson)
So yea, it was a scam, they just changed the OEM but not the name of the PSU...

Why 80 PLUS® is Irrelevant to You When Buying a PSU
80 plus has NOTHING to do with quality rated output or stability.

And many companies cheat if they think they can get away with it.
The Raidmax AE is sold as 80 plus gold despite that it can just hit bronze levels, and yes its another Andyson made series.

Andyson can make some really good units like their new R and N which are quite good.
But most of the time just make junk for Raidmax and others.

Maybe i should make an Andyson info thread as there is more to work with now then i had a year or two ago.

R series

N series

Anyway Tacens seems like a no name brand selling junk.

600 watts is way overkill for a system with a GTX 970 a 400 watt PSU is more then enough.
Get a Cooler Master V450 its 160mm so it should be able to fit, if it cant then SilverStone has some SFX units that can.

There is zero info on that sharkoon so forget it.

I wanted to use the new XFX TS 550W , its 65€ on my country (Portugal) but its cheaper improting from Spain (the website u have is spanish).
I'm already spending alot on the PSU due to my case.. I didnt want to spend alot. I dont need modular PSU, but it would make life easier i guess.

The best option out that site since the selection is so piss poor is this one

The non modular version is a little bit cheaper
