I can get some Vega 64 numbers posted later this week. I'm retiring a Vega 64 from my testing server, and moving it into my main machine later in the week. Most of the numbers will be in Linux, but I could run it in Windows for a bit before I swap it into my main rig.


On the subject of the new category limits, what you have there looks good so far. I especially like the idea of bumping up the CPU categories. Even though CPU folding is not what it once was, we may be able to snag a few more people with cores to spare, now that high thread count CPUs are becoming more prevalent.

In the past it has usually been OK to use higher core count CPUs, as long as the the folding was limited to the maximum number of allowed threads with the client.

Unless there are changes to either OpenMM or the AMD GPU arch, AMD will probably never be competitive in [email protected] There are other compute loads where it is competitive and/or superior, but [email protected] is just not one of those scenarios. The improvements in the AMD Linux driver have definitely helped to shorten the gap, but my OC'd FuryX is still a little behind an OC'd 980 in [email protected]

The only future changes that I foresee happening is adding the Vega GPUs to the AMD category. If that happens, and the PPD falls where I am expecting, then we will probably shift the 980ti into the nVidia category.
I am also considering picking up a Vega 56 and Vega 64 GPU at some point, if I can snag pre-owned GPU's at a good price.

If we do end up shifting the 980ti into NVIDIA, then would the 1070 be eligible for NVIDIA as well?

I can throw some 1070 results up later. I have a ton of them in my HFM WU History, at stock clocks and OC'd running in Linux.

Someone should test what the ppd increase is as you go up in core count. With the SMP bonus it is possible that going from 4 to 8 cores (HT/SMT off) is more than double the ppd of 4 cores. I don't think many people have played around with CPU folding since Stanford killed big advantage and started focusing on GPU folding.

Vega 64 in GPU-L makes sense. It crushes my Fury X.

I think the 980 at the top of NVIDIA is fine. That follows what we have now, more or less, and just updates it by one generation of GPUs.

Just a couple of things on the Hardware Eligibility list.

• I didn't see it on the list, but I assume the original Titan X (Maxwell) goes in GPU-L
• I would change the Vega entry to "RX Vega 64/56". The Vega 56 is only a little slower than the 64, which makes it much faster than a Fury.

Everyhting looks good for Infinity. Users, slots, passkeys all appear to be in the right spot and updating correctly. :thumb:



I might have a hardware change next week, but slots and passkeys will stay the same.
