Industry informer DigiTimes shared today some information on the upcoming Deneb processor family from AMD. According to their information, AMD is planning to launch six high-end 45nm quad-core CPUs (Deneb) and four entry-level (Propus) including 20x00, 18x00, 16x00 and 1xx00e models, in the first quarter of next year. Two of these processors will be available earlier in November of this year - the 3GHz Phenom X4 20550 and 2.8GHz 20350 for socket AM2+ systems.
AMD will also launch six 45nm triple-core CPUs (Heka and Regor) including 14x00, 12x00 and 1xx00e series. These triple-core CPUs will enter design validation test (DVT) and start shipping in the first quarter next year.
In the second and third quarter of next year AMD will also start shipping its 45nm AM3-based dual-core CPUs, part of the Regor family.
Although the chipmaker will largely enter the 45nm generation, in order to prevent potential yield rate problems from the new process, it will launch seven 65nm CPUs including three quad-core Phenom X4 CPUs (Agena) â€" 9950 (120W), 9850 (95W) and 9450e (65W), and two Athlon X2 CPUs (Kuma) â€" 7750 and 7550 in the first quarter of 2009, while two low-power Athlon X2 CPUs (Brisbane) â€" 5050e and 3250e, will launch in the near future.
Launching of the new Phenom processors will also lead to new price reductions and last order notices for some of the older processors. Unfortunately, there is no additional information.

good find.

My next dream rig will include a 45nm Phenom, 6GB DDR3, DX11 ATi Card and Windows 7
Would love a dual core deneb whenever they roll around.
yeah i would rather have a dual core phenom why arent they out!
They still talk about releasing these Kuma CPUs.... they're over a year late and still nothing! And even more impressive, K8 is still going to be around into next year! It just keeps on ticking!
Did I read correctly the 45nm Deneb desktop certain models will release in November ?.

Nice to see some news on Deneb, finally! I am really curious to see how the 3Ghz Deneb stacks up against Core i7. In my opinion it is going to be difficult for AMD to compete with aggressive pricing, high performance, and SLI on the X58. Perhaps the only hope AMD has is the ridiculous price of the X58 + DDR3 + Nehalem combo.

i want a dual core phenom also
and its about time amd gets to 45nm.. although is it that much better than 90mm? I say amd should come out with a new core... 'Amd Core 2 Phenom' haha just kidding

dang thats one heck of a line up coming from almost nothing

Heres to AMD bringing some competition finally (hopefully lol).

the only competition would probably be the prices.. after all i7 seems to be really fast doesnt it? though.. the price is outrageous
although who knows... maybe AMD got something up there sleeve...

I really wish they will pull out something this time around. The switch to i7 is too expensive. I am guessing it would cost close to 700 - 800 $ for the cheapest i7, x58 and ddr3. Hoping AMD can deliver that kind of performance around the 500$ bracket.

I am just holding off till Jan/Feb so that i know what will go into my next build.

Well apparently the i7 isn't the greatest at gaming so maybe AMD can price these right and hopefully they'll perform for us gamers. I'd like to hear more news on the Denebs...

those are only the AM2+ denebs. i think they're still on the 65nm scale, too. we won't see the 45nm AM3's till at least a quarter way through 2009

as far as price, it'll be cheaper for anyone with an intel platform or an amd platform to go with the denebs, but i doubt the performance will be on par with the i7's until the AM3's get here.

AMD for gaming and Intel for everything else...
didn't you just miss the good old days?

Well i know for one i cant wait to see real world scenarios with this processor and if it does well this may be my upgrade or i'll wait and see what else is coming.
wow it will make the tricores and other a bit cheaper hehe, finally something going on, but im not gona get it so soon, i hardly max out my dual core now lol
