Tell me, fellow nVidia fanboys... Is there hope for the future?

With ATI being what looks like a possible full year ahead of nVidia on DX11 (Which looks oh-so tasty) and the master race AMD/nVidia combo nearly extinct (I could only find one AM3/DDR3/SLI mobo...) could this mean total extinction of our lord and master nVidia? Or do you think when nVidia finally makes the DX11 scene it'll blow ATI out of the water?

NEVER my friend. sorry to offend any ATI people who read this but have you ever noticed on games it seems to say "Nvidia, the way its meant to be played"

they design games using Nvidia. I was born wearing a Nvidia shirt man!
no.

but in all honesty I HOPE that fermi does well.......we need price drops on these 58xx cards man!!!

Be patient, this will most likely happen in the spring. I have high expectations for the GTX360, seriously.

wasn't Nvidia the first to make a video card in the first place?
heck i still use DX9 because i dont have vista or 7. i still can't complain about DX9. i love it!
Nvidia chips will most likely be faster than the 5XXX series, although Im speculating the 300 chips will be very very expensive. ATI will most likely slash the prices on the 5 series once the new Nvidia chips come in.
idk, but nvidia better do something to get fermi out. From the way things are looking, fermi might not be relaesed til spring next year, and if that happens, Ati will have over 6 months on them, meaning that Ati's next RV990 will near release. This should not happen though, who wants outrageous gpu prices?

The earliest production video card was the IBM MDA.

If you're talking 3D, then the earliest production 3D video cards were by Matrox/ATI/Creative/S3 in 1995. Voodoo ruled from 97 to 99, then nVidia took over until about 2002. Then the rest is fairly recent history, nVidia vs. ATI.

In short, no.

I think Fermi is going to be pretty awesome and if it's not, it will at least make ati prices drop..lol

erm.... usualy if a game a game says that it means the game was optimised for nvidia cards... point out the obvious

future will only tell.. i suspect when amd are out of debt u will start seeing

" ATI, This is how it should of been played"

even when Firmy(had to do it
) does come out i don't expect HD5XXX prices to drop since the supply is so low

dang! well anyways, Nvidia in my opinion will always be reliable and more compatible with games than ATI. Nvidia is even pretty good with drivers. they had an update not too long ago for my old GeForce 5600 FX and i was pretty happy about that at the time. ATI on the other hand, don't make updates for my 4 year old chipset

Oh yes, I have complete faith that Nvidia will blow ATI out of the water..... like they always do

..........

the first "video card" ever made was the IBM MDA(monochromatic display adapter). What's really funny though is that, roughly judging from the card's picture on wiki, it's about as long as a 5970
