Hey guys, I was just wondering what the normal temperature a 4870x2 should be running at? I was also wondering what percent speed most people keep the GPU fan at? I've got it at 70% currently. Thanks a bunch.

Well under 200F is my rule of thumb.

On stock fan my GPU core will be at 70 idle and 80 odd load. They get very hot.
I have the fan on 50% and don't see much higher than 70 load.

With the Accelero this is considerably lowered of course.

Yeah with the stock paperweight I was getting about 77C under load at about 50% fan speed. I noticed when I took it off that the thermal pads sucked and were cracked up, and the TIM on the GPUs wasn't put on very well. Maybe a remount will help if you're worried about temps.

Oh and does your card have voltage control?

With MSI afterburner you should be able to adjust the voltage if you need too.

I used to have a very nice water cooling setup but the maintenance/cost vs the performance increase just didn't work out for me.

stock cooler -- 45% fan speed -- idles @ 43 and super-duper loads ~ 95.

i have my fans set at 30% for normal pc usage like web browsing and the temps stay at about 40-high fortys...

for gaming i have my fans set to 70% and temps dont reach over high 70s
