hey all,

a few days ago i got some acryl, which i accidently set against some MDF plates

so? big deal...right? RIGHT! that IS a big deal...for me

for me it felt like a sign...a sign to mod...to mod like i've never moddedered before

anyways...i've made some sketches (sorry no 3d...i`m old
)

the bottom plate is MDF, there are 2 small sides off MDF, and 1 small MDF plate in the front...the other 2 plates are gonna be Acryl.
hopefully it'll all be stable enough

anyways, i`ve already drawn a few lines on the MDF and acryl...gonna saw them to pieces tomorrow

the lines on the acryl...the dots/plus' on the left side are for mobo standoffs.

the MDF...the left lines are for the vertical plates. the right lines are for the bottom plate.

i hope this all makes sense to you...hell i hope it all makes sense for me lol

Cheers

Dude that temp is nothing, just like CR said. I grew up in MN, I have seen -40 and colder. I have been in 108 degree temps. Try those and tell me what you do then lol.

But on the modding side, good luck! I am gonna get the inside of my case powdercoated once I move, but before I do that, I am gonna build an acrylic tech bench, so I will be following yours for ideas.

Tomorrow i`ll start drilling some holes and get started on assembly.

well...i finished the drilling part

and also the painting part

at first i wasn`t going to paint it but i spilled some coffee over it (don`t ask) so now i had to

here are the parts all drilled and ready (before coffee-spillage
)

here are the parts after the primer + paint...drying in the sun
(looks awefull on pics
)

so the sides are matt black, the rest is Metallic Violet (Purdy Sparkly Pruple
)

well it`s actually pretty smooth in real life, and it all looks perfect...it only looks hideous on pics lol

anyway...since it`s so warm here, the paint is already dry, so assembly has started

i think it looks nice already, and it`s actually more robust than i imagined (and more then i need lol)
i`m gonna go assemble the rest

well, i`d say it`s done now

still not sure about the middle plate, but i`ll see what i`ll do with it when i start to transfer my sig rig from the Antec 1200 to this

and i really suck at taking pictures

the top plate looks all bent on the pic

i`ll make some more pics when i start to transfer it all cause i`m sure i`ll have to make some changes on the way

Edit: Total time working on this so far? 4 hours
