Hey all, here's the skinny:

Running an Asus M2N68 and an AMD PhenomX4 CPU. After system crashed twice yesterday with lights on but no one home (i.e. HDD light changed from green to red and cpu fan still functioning) i opened the case to discover my CPU fan sitting slightly loose over the CPU (one of those wretched push pin units) .

I'm trying to work out if my mobo has given up the ghost or the CPU.

When the board is stripped of connections save cpu (with reseated fan) and RAM i get no beep code when booting however fan does turn on.

Im trying to establish if i should head out and buy a new mobo or whether my CPU has fried itself. not sure which way to call it yet. HALP!

I was kinda thinking that as well...

I any case, I would clear the CMOS for a time and try booting again with a single stick of memory.
