I'm using OCCT GPU right now, shader complexity 8, error checking, and all that, but i'm not sure how long to leave it running until i can deem it stable. Anyone know?

I usually run about 5-10min of OCCT and then just play a game or run a graphics intensive program like 3D mark,heaven, etc.

As others are stating, 10-15 of OCCT or Furmark is all it takes from a synthetic stress test. Then you will also just have to give a few games a try...

OCCT and Furmark are barely good ideas. They show if it fails, but so will playing your favourite vidya.

Meh, use BFBC 2 or other games for benches.

I just thought i could use a game as unoptimized as crysis to use as the roof to know that if it passes there it could pass anywhere

Damn, another game i don't have haha. Now that i got this rig i'll definitely have to look into that, heard it was pretty good, albeit insanely demanding

but do you know of any standalone demanding game benchmarks that would be good for stability testing?

edit: well i do have just cause 2, and that has 3 benches, would that be an ideal game to use as a stability test?

Stalker has a free benchmark tool I believe.

Yeah, I'm hoping to sell my rig, it's been on ebay for like 4 days, but no bids, hopefully it will get some at the end of the selling point.
