So I've been running tf2 in dx8 mode for a few weeks and I just decided to run it again at max settings. This game looks incredible but I can't remember if the lighting looked like this or is it a weird bug?

Its not supposed to be like this lol.
Try the usual: verifying and defraging game cache.

The environment looks fine, but the player model is definitely messed up.

Looks like an HDR problem. I used to get really shiny models in DODS (uses same engine)

Dont remember how I fixed it since I still use HDR. Try using default config.

Why are you running DX8 on your computer, it can easily handle TF2 maxed in every aspect.

I was running dx8 as I sometimes get fps drops in a massive fight on all max. Although that doesnt seem to happen anymore
