Hey guys, I've been looking around and I cannot make up my mind. My goal is to have a completely silent computer, so, I looked at the Zalman Reserator 1 V2 and the Reserator 2. Also, I've looked at getting a ThermalTake Big Typhoon or Tuniq Tower 120. I need a quiet, 20dBa max, fan on the cooler - if any - and it needs to be water cooling or air, no liquid nitrogen here.

I will overclock a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad slightly (maybe a 250-500MHz OC) and again I'm looking for a very quiet, cool alternative to cooling down a CPU. Also, if I go with a custom water kit I'm only going to include the CPU in the loop, no GPU, NB, or SB cooling here. And for my Hard Disk Drive I'm going to add heatsinks via thermal adhensive.

Ideas? Opinions?

How much CFM is it at 17dBA? Thanks! I have a Big Typhoon and it's kind of loud.

I don't know though, some reviews of the Reserators are on par with the Swiftech Apex Ultra, while others have it a few C warmer than stock. >.< A Heatsink Modded / Lapped Big Typhoon with a SilverStone FM-121B Fan might be my best options, any other good CPU coolers out there?

Well, I have 8.7dBA Case Fans and an Arctic Cooling ATi Silencer 5 Rev. 2 on my X800XL. I meant CFM for SilverStone,

110cfm max for the fm121, LOL, 8.7dba, not alot of airflow

I have 4xScythe S-Flex 8.7dBA 33.5CFM 800RPM 120mm Case Fans in my Antec P180B and it has way better airflow and cooling than my Asus Vento 360. I love my Case Fans, they are amazingly quiet, I hate my Northbridge Fan though, 7200RPM fan whinning KILLS me. I'm so glad I'm getting a passivly cooled RD600 Chipset motherboard in March.

I'm going to get Antazone Northbridge coolers for my RD600 Motherboard, I don't want to mess with this setup, my Ram's dead right now, so, it's always off. I need to see if CrossFire will fit with the bigger NB/SB heatsinks I'm going to get. Anyway, I think I'm just going to get install my Big Typhoon on my new CPU when I get it then install the Zalman and if I like the Zalman more I'll keep it, if not I hope I have a 30 warranty.
