FAQS:
How do I get 3Dmark to work with the HD 2900XT?
Go to the c:\\windows\\system32\\futuremark\\msc directory and rename or delete the file "direcpll.dll" if you install another 3Dmark like 03 or 05 you will have to do this again.

When can I get Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half Life Episode 2?
October 9th is the official word.

Where can I find out more about the HD 2900XT?

I love the card, it runs my games quite smooth. I have had some issues with the absolute latest driver release. it causes my card to not be able to display 1440x900. But if i just keep the base 7.5 driver everything is fine. All in all a great card!

EDIT

also has great vista x64 support!

Did your card come with an adapter for the 8-pin connector?

Thank you.

Hey check it out, boss ^ Straight from Chozart. Start a new thread if you want to bash the HD2900XT, it would certainly be an original thing to do that everyone would want to hear.

I've finally sold my GTS 320mb and I'm deciding between a 640mb or a HD2900XT. I can afford either, so that doesn't matter. The info I'm looking for is:

I hear tell this card needs some serious power. Can anyone tell me if my power supply will run it fine? Also, I don't have the sort of crazy connectors it is asking for, is there anything to do for that?

The last two sets of drivers have made it a bit better, I notice it in WoW and Oblivion. A 500W PSU runs this card just great. Most people have 500+ nowadays.

EDIT: I'd really like this thread to be Information less than questions or bashing but, eh.

Anybody try the 7.6 driver besides me? The drivers worked horribly on my end I went from stock 8300 to 7100 and then OC from 9100 to 7500.
If you are referring to 3dmark06, my scores stayed about the same with 7.6
