HI there! Guess who got an Xbox 360 core for christmas! You guessed it! My little brother
But anyhoo I play it just as much if not more than him, so I consider it kinda partially mine

Now, I am a freaking idiot when it comes to game systems as this is the first one I have ever had/played in the past 7 years.

I have lots of questions (whether I remember them or not doesn't matter). And I know I will have a lot more as they come to me in my late night gaming sprees.

So lets start why don't we?

1. I get an error when I try to play plain Xbox games which is bad because I only have 1 360 game. The error is that I need a hard drive or something to play it. My friend has the same kind of Xbox 360 and can play them there o'l xbox games. What can I do, besides buy a $70 hard drive.

2. What are some good FPS games I can buy for it?

.....

OK well I am completely blanking out now so I can't recollect any thing else I wanted to ask, but you can expect more questions later on!

THANKS!!

Merry Christmas all!

EDIT! Whatta ya know?! I remembered one!
3. What is Xbox live and how do I set it up?

WEll the error that you are getting is that it is true you need to buy a hardrive so your little brother must have gotten the Core xbox 360 which isnt as good as the premium 360 that comes with harddrive wireless controllers and stuff so the only way to get those old xbox games to work is to buy a harddrive ($100) thats why most people just buy the premium cause it comes with all the extras for and extra $100 and a good FPS is Gears of War , Battlefield 2 modern combat , and Ghost recon adanced warfighter

Alright, well I guess I will have to get the stupid hard drive

Is there any technical difference between the Core and premium?
Is Call of Duty 3 better (as far as fun/graphics combo) than 2?
Is it bad if during gameplay of Lord of the rings 2 for 360, it stutters?
The xbox is kinda loud is that good?

P.S. This xbox is used

Call of Duty 3 has better graphics then CoD2, and the fun is about the same, although I personally think CoD2 was a little better (although I ran through most of veteran on a 2 day rental).

Some 360 games I've noticed tend to stutter if A LOT is going on and I mean A LOT. The PS3 stutters when anything happens but it takes a lot to slow down the PS3. If you can still the play the game I'd chalk it up to developer sloppiness, but before that just make sure the disc isn't scratched or anything.

You need the hard drive, and even then not all XBox games work on the X360. Here is a link to the backwards compatibility FAQ. On the left side of the page is a link to the list of XBox games that will work.

Gears of War is the #1 game on the X360 for a reason. If you have an X360 and don't have Gears of War, you're just doing it wrong.

Lol thanks there VD. Now lets see here, once I purchase a hard drive how do I get the updates and all that from where I need to get them? Do I just plug in the Xbox into my 3th3rn3t cable or what?

Live = awesome.

It will tell you when an update is available/ required for the dashboard. It will also let you know if there's an update available for the game you have in the 360.
