1When does it come out?
2How much powerful will it be?
3Will it be a re - brand of 2xx GTX series?
4How many of them required to max out Crysis @ 1920 x 1200 @ 60 + fps?
5How much power it use?
6How much will it cost?

Any useful information will be appreciated along with any pontifications on the subject.

I think that is what he is asking too, but is there really nothing at all known about the 300 series? I wana know because I just blew some tax money on a GTX 260 and I wana know if the 300's are just gona blow the 200's outa the water. Me and my wallet are scared

EDIT: Now that I'm looking around, I don't think it will be really easy to get reliable info about the 300 series this far away before they launch.

With CPU Magazine in hand the latest info has :
Asus ENGTX295
1,920x1,200 NoAA NoAF
40.27 fps

Asus EAH4870X2 TOP
1,920x1,200 No AA No AF
40.33 fps

Using C2Extreme [email protected] Asus StrikerII Extreme
4Gig Corsair DDR3-1333
Raptor HD 150GB

So any new cards are still going to strain to get 60+ fps.

Chuck D

That was the highest using 9 cards to test

Seeing how 280 GTX = 9800GX2 it would be safe to assume that
380 GTX = 295 GTX, but in a single card,
so with 380 GTX SLI rest assured you will get coveted 60 fps
with some headroom hopefull

That would be nice but as usual until something leaks out or shows up all we can do is waite for the big "Boom its here" and I think ATI might pop the big boom first. Then Nvidia will follow suite. To me both companies are well beyond our dreams ...but why give it to use when they can make us drool so much, right?
lol

That is highly doubted. You seem to test the power of Crysis...And you shouldn't assume the power of a next gen card without knowing any other specification other than it being DX11 compatible.

The 3 series won't happen for a while.

Nvidia will milk the GTX2 naming scheme a bit more first.

it should be out around christmas. Probably a few weeks before in the holiday buying season. It will take a lot to beat the 9800GX2 you have, If it doesn't have GTX295 performance for less $ it wont be worth it.

Full specs for compare on the GTS250

55 nm TSMC
128 SP's
738 MHz Core
1,836 MHz Shader
1,100 MHz Memory clock
1GB GDDR3
256-bit Memory Bus
16 ROP's
est. 149$

Looks promising actually. I would like to see it drop.

DX10 is really still untouched guys, if they release DX11 NOW like within March, it would just be stupid. and not so hot on the marketing end to. We have most likely a little over a dozen well known DX10 games. I say DX11 will premier mid 2011.

Only nVidia would rename the same card and stick a different shroud on it...

The GTX 250 is a 9800GTX+

But it has 1GB of GDDR3 which will help in the higher resolution ranges, and the 9800GTX+ is 145$, if the GTS250 is 150$ that is 5$ for double the memory. Which would be a great move if nVidia can profit from it.

I don't see the point of people blowing money away just to play crysis, it isn't even that good of a game, yea it looks cool if you have it maxed out, but really a gtx 260 or 280 can play almost every game out there with +60 fps, unless you have a huge monitor then I see why someone would go sli. I say save your money for now
